London Russian Music Academy
"Probably the best music school in London with the most devoted brilliant teachers." Parent
Based on the legendary Russian Method our programme covers two instrumental lessons per week, chamber music and choral training, solfeggio, harmony, composition and music history. Our emphasis is on getting to know and explore a wide and diverse repertoire and our dedicated teaching staff are drawn from professional musicians of exceptional talent, many of whom combine teaching with flourishing concert careers.
Venue: Studies take place on Sundays at St Marylebone School in central London, supplemented by a weekly individual lesson at home. Student progress is assessed throughout the year.
Instrumental tuition: We currently offer tuition on the following instruments: piano, jazz piano, violin, viola, cello, double base, harp, classical guitar, recorder, clarinet, flute, oboe, trumpet, trombone, saxophone, percussion instruments and voice.
Choir & Ensembles: We operate a Lower Junior, Upper Junior and Senior Choir and many chamber ensembles.
Performance opportunities: All our students are given regular opportunities to perform in public, both in the UK and abroad, the majority of concert taking place at St Mark’s Church in Hamilton Terrace, Maida Vale, which has a superb Fazioli Piano.
Exceptional students are given further opportunities to perform alongside professional musicians, to play with the London International Chamber Orchestra and to appear at prestigious concert venues. Recent performances took place at the Royal Over-Seas
League, Leighton House Museum, St. Martin-in-the-Fields and Cadogan Hall. The highlight of each term is a concert in which all students perform. These concerts take place either at St Mark's Church or at other notable London concert venues.
Awards: Our students continuously receive music scholarships and awards for excellence at top senior schools as well as the receiving the prestigious Tsukanov Family Foundation Scholarship. Other notable successes include receiving First Prize at many National Music Festivals, the Emunah Young Musician of the Year Competition and the International Piano Competition in Abruzzo, Italy; Second Prize at the International Piano Competition in Grosetto, Italy; Third Prize at the International Piano Competition 'Young Musician of the North'.
Our mission: To provide music education of exceptional quality and to share the wonderful experience of classical music with as many young music enthusiasts as possible.
